Dear families, friends, relatives, and sponsors,
My name is Mai Donohue. I am a Teaching Assistant at Barrington High School. I write this letter to ask for your help, not for my students, but for the students of New Dorp High School, Staten Island, NY, which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
On January 31, 2013, Barrington High School students and faculty will be hosting a Vietnamese Dinner and raffle to raise money for New Dorp High School. All the money raised will go directly to New Dorp High School. I am donating two weeks of my pay to buy the food for the dinner. Since I am Vietnamese, I am happy to do all the cooking.
However, no one can do it alone. We need your support to help those students and their families repair the damage. Especially heartbreaking for me was to see young students that have lost their hope of an education. I feel a responsibility to help those children strengthen their futures.
Join us for a delicious Vietnamese feast, a silent auction, and a raffle drawing for great prizes on
JANUARY 31, 2013 from 6-8 PM at BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
Tickets: $20 adults, $10 children, children under five free
